The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Jakarta (Latin: Giakartan(us)) is an archdiocese located in the city of Jakarta in Indonesia.

History

1826: Established as Apostolic Prefecture of Batavia from the Apostolic Prefecture of Bourbon
April 3, 1841: Promoted as Apostolic Vicariate of Batavia
February 7, 1950: Renamed as Apostolic Vicariate of Djakarta
January 3, 1961: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Djakarta
August 22, 1973: Renamed as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Jakarta
